Baltem: Celebrating 30 years together!

On October 21st, 1994, a vision was born: to build a company that provides industry-leading equipment while fostering long-term relationships with clients. Over the past three decades, Baltem has become a trusted name across the Baltics, known for its commitment to trust, customer relationships, and delivering the best service standards in the industry.

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we reflect on our journey from our humble beginnings, to a team of 120 dedicated professionals across 8 branches in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Our mission has always been rooted in providing quality solutions, innovative machinery, and unwavering support to our customers. And this mission will continue to drive us forward into the future.

 

Our Journey Through the Years

1994 – Meelis Mitt founded Baltem with the goal of bringing world-class quality machinery to the Baltic market. At that time, the company operated with a handful of employees, partnering with Suomen Rakennuskone OY (SRO), acting as an agent for Komatsu and Lännen in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

1996 – Baltem expanded by becoming a dealer of Nordberg-Lokomo (Metso Minerals), introducing crushing and screening equipment to the Baltic market.

1997 – Baltijas Celtniecibas Masina (BCM) was established as a subsidiary of Baltem in Riga, Latvia.

1998 – SRO acquired a majority stake in Baltem. This marked a key moment in our growth, as we became the official Komatsu and Lännen dealer for Estonia through SRO.

1999 – Expansion into Lithuania began with the establishment of Baltijos Statybinės Mašinos (BSM) in Vilnius as a distributor of Komatsu.

2004 – Baltem became a part of the Sumitomo Corporation Group (Japan), which allowed for greater resources and development opportunities. This same year, we proudly became exclusive distributors of Komatsu in the Baltics.

2005 – BSM and BCM were merged to create Baltem Komatsu branches across the Baltic countries.

2010 – The merger of our three Baltic operations into unified branches in Riga and Vilnius was completed, further solidifying our presence.

2017 – Our reach extended even further, as we became the official distributor for McCloskey Mobile Crushers and Screens.

2024 – Today, Baltem represents world-class brands like Komatsu, Deutz-Fahr, McCloskey, Topcon, Lannen, Telestack, CDE, Kinshofer, Green Cut and Morooka, continuing our commitment to growth and excellence.
